Online advertising generating offline sales: How Automated Creative helped launch Jim Beam Peach in the UK and deliver significant sales gains

Results - 20% increase in sales vs. forecast nationwide

In January 2021, Automated Creative was tasked with launching a new flavour of the famous Jim Beam whisky - Jim Beam Peach - in select ASDA stores. Working with partner agency Bright Signals, we had to overcome a “few” obstacles: lockdown and it being the middle of winter for launching a summer drink, among others.

The goal? Maximising offline sales through an online social media campaign that would create maximum buzz and deliver financial results

The approach? We created two target audiences:

  • A total UK audience with a general interest in whisky;

  • A select audience interested in Jim Beam, geo-targeted from ASDA stores with traditionally strong Jim Beam sales (Nottingham, Leeds, Belfast, Doncaster and Newcastle).

Using our proprietary tool, we created 150+ individual online ads that delighted consumers. We also generated valuable insight on what creative triggers drove consumer actions and successfully tracked them across both types of audiences.

The result? An uplift of 20% in sales vs. forecast nationwide and an additional increase of 42% in sales in the geo-targeted locations (surplus to the national sales uplift).

And that’s not all… our automated ads obtained some spectacular results:

  • More than tripled the number of impressions for the national audience;

  • More than doubled the number of impressions for the geo-targeted audience;

  • 35% cheaper CPLC than benchmark;

  • 163.57% more ad recalls at national level;

  • 104.87% more clicks for the targeted audience

We boosted engagement and created amazing buzz internally and externally within Jim Beam and its owner Edrington UK - and of course, with their consumers.
